Famiglia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella
Famiglia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella

The Famiglia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella is a concentrated, full-bodied red wine poured at Grappa in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Made by the Pasqua family of Verona, this DOCG Amarone is crafted from dried grapes for remarkable depth and richness. We pour it for guests who want one of Italy’s great special-occasion reds, a wine built for rich red sauces or a contemplative finish to the evening.

About the Winery

Pasqua is a family winery founded in Verona in 1925. Now approaching its centennial, it has grown into one of the region’s most respected producers, farming its own vineyards across the Valpolicella zone. The family is a fixture at Amarone Opera Prima, the prestigious annual showcase of the appellation hosted by the Consorzio Vini Valpolicella in Verona.

Region & Grape

This is Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, from the hills north of Verona in the Veneto. It is made from the traditional Valpolicella grapes, led by Corvina with Rondinella, Corvinone, and a touch of Negrara. The grapes are hand-harvested and dried for several months to concentrate sugar and flavor before fermentation, then matured in oak. The wine spends around 20 months in barrel. The vintage we pour is 2019.

Tasting Notes

Expect a deep, concentrated wine with aromas of cassis, ripe black fruit, dried cherry, and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with layered dark fruit, gentle oak, and a long, generous finish. It is dry but richly fruited, powerful yet polished.

What to Pair It With

Its power and concentration call for rich, savory dishes. Pair it with our American Wagyu Steaks, Pappardelle Bolognese, or our Charcuterie Board. It is also wonderful on its own as a nightcap. See more on our full dine-in menu.
