Sangria
Sangria

Sangria is a fruit-forward wine cocktail poured at Grappa in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Our house version is built on wine and fresh fruit, sweetened with honey and fortified with brandy and a splash of liqueur. It is on our list as a relaxed, shareable pour that brings a little Mediterranean sunshine to the candlelit dining room.

What’s In It

Our Sangria starts with wine and fresh fruit, gently sweetened with honey rather than refined sugar, then deepened with a measure of brandy and a touch of liqueur. The fruit macerates so its juices fold into the wine, the honey rounds the edges, and the brandy gives the glass backbone and warmth. Served over ice, it is a pitcher-style classic made one glass at a time.

About This Cocktail

Sangria is the beloved wine punch of Spain and Portugal, traditionally built from red wine, fresh fruit and a fortifying spirit. At Grappa, we keep the spirit of the original while making it our own: real fruit, honey for natural sweetness, and brandy plus liqueur for depth. The result is a glass that feels both festive and refined, equally at home as an aperitivo or alongside a long, leisurely dinner.

Tasting Notes

The aroma is bright with macerated fruit and a honeyed sweetness. The palate is juicy and rounded, the wine carrying ripe fruit while the brandy and liqueur add warmth and a little richness. The finish is soft and gently sweet, refreshing without being cloying.

What to Pair It With

Sangria’s juicy fruit loves Mediterranean small plates. Pair it with our Charcuterie Board, the saganaki-style Saganaki, or Our Hummus. Browse the full dine-in menu for more.
