Seven years in oak is a long, patient act of faith, and Nardini Riserva 7 Year rewards it richly. Poured by candlelight at our table in Queen Anne, this deeply rested grappa is among the most refined digestifs we offer. From our family to your table, it is a sumptuous way to close a long Italian evening.
About the Distillery
The Nardini distillery was founded in 1779 in Bassano del Grappa, in the Veneto, and is widely regarded as Italy’s oldest grappa house. For well over two centuries the Nardini family has distilled along the Brenta River, and their extended Riserva expressions represent the deepest, most contemplative side of their craft. That heritage is exactly what we love to bring to the table in Seattle.
Style & Production
This is a true grappa, distilled from the pomace of Veneto and Friuli grapes rather than from wine. After distillation the spirit rests roughly seven years in Slavonian oak. Those long years in wood deepen its color toward amber, soften its edges entirely, and layer in a complexity that only patient barrel aging can give. It is a Riserva in the fullest sense.
Tasting Notes
Expect a smooth, enveloping grappa with remarkable depth and harmony. The extended oak rest brings warm, rounded notes that echo vanilla, cocoa, and dried fruit, carried on a long, graceful finish. It is intense yet utterly polished, made to be lingered over.
What to Pair It With
A long-aged grappa deserves the richest plates. Enjoy it with our Flourless Chocolate Cake, our Mama’s Tiramisu, or our Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta. It is also a superb digestif after our American Wagyu Steaks. Browse the full dine-in menu to build the evening around it.
How It’s Served at Grappa
We pour Nardini Riserva 7 Year as a digestif at $25, served neat in a tulip glass so its depth and aromas can open at their own unhurried pace.
