Few digestifs carry the prestige of the Jacopo Poli Grappa di Sassicaia, a rare bottling drawn from one of Italy’s most legendary wines. From our family to your table, we pour this golden, barrel-aged grappa by candlelight for those special evenings that deserve an extraordinary finish.
About the Distillery
Poli Distillerie was founded in 1898 by Giobatta Poli and remains a family business in Schiavon, in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, home to one of the oldest operating stills in the country. Run today by the Poli siblings, the house is celebrated for its artisanal copper pot distillation and its devotion to the craft of fine grappa.
Style & Production
This grappa is distilled from the fresh pomace of Sassicaia, the famed Bolgheri Super Tuscan built on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The pomace arrives at the distillery still dripping with wine and is distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The spirit then undergoes a double maturation, resting for several years in barriques before a finishing period in barrels that previously held Sassicaia itself.
Tasting Notes
This double aging gives the grappa a beautiful golden color and a sumptuous, layered bouquet of wood, spice, vanilla, cocoa and coffee. The palate is rich and refined, with majestic notes of hazelnut and amaretto carried through a long, elegant finish.
What to Pair It With
A grappa this rare deserves a memorable pairing. Pour it as a digestif after our American Wagyu Steaks, or savor it with our Flourless Chocolate Cake or Mama’s Tiramisu. Explore the full dine-in menu to plan your evening.
How It’s Served at Grappa
