Bainbridge Battle Point is an organic wheat whiskey distilled right across the water from us, and it may be the most local pour on our list here at Grappa in Queen Anne, Seattle. For guests who love a true taste of the Pacific Northwest, this is the bottle to ask for.
About the Distillery
Bainbridge Organic Distillers sits on Bainbridge Island, a short ferry ride west of Seattle across Puget Sound. Founded by Keith Barnes, it earned its place as Washington State’s first distillery to produce USDA-certified organic spirits. The house works with neighboring certified-organic farms to source its grain, a genuinely hyper-local, farm-to-bottle philosophy that we are proud to share with our guests just across the Sound.
Style & Mash Bill
Battle Point is built almost entirely from organic soft white wheat, a soft-grained, gentle base that gives wheat whiskey its characteristic mellow sweetness. It is distilled and matured in new charred American oak, and its all-organic, single-grain-driven character sets it apart from the corn-led profile of a typical bourbon. The result is rounded, soft and unmistakably crafted.
Tasting Notes
Look for a nose of caramel, vanilla and bright orange peel. The palate brings baking spice, fresh barrel char and a touch of sherry-like richness, all carried on the soft, bread-and-honey sweetness of wheat. The finish lingers with a faint, fitting hint of salt-air brine, a nod to its island home.
What to Pair It With
Its warm, spiced sweetness is wonderful with rich, savory plates. Pour it beside our American Wagyu Steaks or a thoughtfully composed Charcuterie Board, and let it finish the night with our Flourless Chocolate Cake. The full dine-in menu offers more to explore.
How It’s Served at Grappa
