Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon
Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon

Blanton’s is the original single-barrel bourbon and one of the most recognizable names in American whiskey, poured at Grappa in Queen Anne, Seattle. With its distinctive horse-and-jockey stopper, it is as elegant on the shelf as it is in the glass.

About the Distillery

Blanton’s is produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, one of the most decorated distilleries in America. Introduced in 1984, Blanton’s is widely credited as the first bourbon ever marketed as a single-barrel product, an idea conceived by master distiller Elmer T. Lee and named for Colonel Albert B. Blanton. Each bottle is topped with one of eight collectible stoppers, each depicting a racehorse and jockey in a different pose, a nod to Kentucky’s deep equine heritage.

Style & Mash Bill

Blanton’s is a single-barrel bourbon, meaning each bottle is drawn from one individual cask rather than blended. It is made from Buffalo Trace’s higher-rye mash bill, which lends it a touch more spice and structure than the distillery’s lower-rye recipe. Because every barrel is bottled on its own, each release carries subtle variations in character, part of the charm of a true single-barrel pour.

Tasting Notes

Expect a refined, balanced pour: caramel, vanilla, and honey lead, joined by citrus, dried orange peel, and a gentle thread of rye spice. There are notes of nutmeg, light oak, and a touch of toffee, with a smooth, satisfying finish. It is an elegant, versatile bourbon that drinks beautifully neat or over a single rock.

What to Pair It With

Blanton’s citrus-and-spice profile makes it a graceful match for a charcuterie board and our Sicilian meatballs. It is equally lovely alongside our American Wagyu steaks, where its rye spice complements the richness of the beef. Browse the full dine-in menu.

How It’s Served at Grappa

We pour Blanton’s neat or on the rocks for $22. We recommend neat or over a single large rock to let its balance shine.
