The Il Poggione Grappa di Brunello Riserva is the kind of pour that rewards an unhurried evening. From our family to your table, we serve this golden, oak-rested grappa by candlelight as a refined and graceful farewell to dinner.

About the Distillery

Tenuta Il Poggione sits in Sant’Angelo in Colle, in the commune of Montalcino in Tuscany. Established at the end of the 19th century, it was one of the original producers of Brunello di Montalcino and remains a benchmark estate, traditionally minded and consistently exceptional. Its grappa is crafted with the same devotion to terroir that defines its celebrated wines.

Style & Production

This grappa is made by artisanal batch distillation of fresh Sangiovese pomace from the estate’s own vineyards. Working with copper stills, the master distiller patiently separates the heart of the spirit, which is then rested for several years in French oak barrels previously used to age Il Poggione’s Brunello di Montalcino. That cask history lends the grappa a beautiful continuity with the wine.

Tasting Notes

Time in oak gives this Riserva a warm golden hue and a layered, elegant character, with gentle notes of vanilla, spice and dried fruit. The palate is smooth and enveloping, with a long, refined finish that echoes its Brunello lineage.
