Louis M. Martini Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

The Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a New World red poured at Grappa in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Made by one of Napa Valley’s most historic Cabernet houses, this 2018 bottling earns its place on our list as a benchmark expression of classic Napa Cabernet: generous, structured, and built for the table.

About the Winery

Louis M. Martini built his winery in Napa Valley in 1933, becoming one of just a handful of vintners to establish a cellar at the repeal of Prohibition. He believed Napa could produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, and he helped prove it, pioneering hillside planting and championing dry, varietally labeled wines. The family acquired the legendary Monte Rosso Vineyard in 1936. Today the winery remains one of the most storied names in California Cabernet.

Region & Grape

This is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California, the appellation that made the grape an American icon. Napa’s warm days and cool nights ripen Cabernet fully while preserving structure. The 2018 vintage is widely regarded as an excellent year for Napa reds, producing wines of balance and depth.
