Lustau Brandy de Jerez is a refined Spanish brandy from Andalusia, matured the patient solera way in casks that once held sherry. We pour it at Grappa, our Italian and Mediterranean restaurant in Queen Anne, Seattle, where it makes an elegant close to an unhurried dinner.
About the Producer
Emilio Lustau is one of the most respected houses in Jerez de la Frontera, long celebrated for its sherries and for bottling Brandy de Jerez under the same exacting eye. Drawing on generations of cellar knowledge, Lustau treats brandy with the same care it gives its finest wines, letting the historic soleras of the region shape a spirit of genuine character.
Style & Production
This is a grape brandy, distilled from wine and carrying the official Brandy de Jerez designation. It is aged in the traditional solera system in American oak casks previously seasoned with sherry, a practice unique to the region. Those sherry-soaked staves lend the brandy its warmth, its rounded sweetness, and its unmistakable Andalusian signature.
Tasting Notes
Light amber in the glass, with aromas of toasted oak, vanilla, dried orange peel, and a whisper of nutty sherry. The palate is smooth and gently sweet, woven with raisin, fig, and toffee, before a dry, long, lightly nutty finish that invites another sip.
What to Pair It With
The brandy’s raisin-and-toffee warmth is lovely beside our Flourless Chocolate Cake or a slice of Mama’s Tiramisu. For something less sweet, the nutty, dried-fruit notes also flatter our Charcuterie Board from the dine-in menu.
How It’s Served at Grappa
We serve it neat as a digestif, in a small snifter to gather its aromas, for $10.
