Few spirits carry as much quiet history in a single pour as Nardini Grappa Bianca. At Grappa, our Italian and Mediterranean dining room in the heart of Queen Anne, Seattle, we offer this storied grappa as a graceful way to close an evening — clear, fragrant, and unmistakably Venetian. It is the kind of after-dinner ritual that lingers in the memory long after the last plate is cleared.
About the Distillery
Distilleria Nardini was founded by Bortolo Nardini in 1779 at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio in Bassano del Grappa, in Italy’s Veneto region. Widely recognized as Italy’s oldest grappa distillery, Nardini has remained family-owned across the generations, nurturing the traditions of distillation for more than two centuries. The riverside grapperia, set where the town meets the Brenta River, helped establish grappa as the proud signature spirit of the Veneto.
Style & Production
Grappa Bianca is a classic, unaged grappa — the clear, crystalline expression of the Nardini house. It is distilled from grape pomace, the skins and seeds left after winemaking, drawn from varieties grown across the region. The pomace is twice distilled and bottled without barrel aging, which preserves the bright, transparent character and the pure aromatic lift of the grape. The result is grappa in its most direct and traditional form, the way it has long been enjoyed in Bassano.
Tasting Notes
Nardini Grappa Bianca pours crystal clear and opens with a frank, generous fragrance — intensely grapey, with delicate floral and orchard-fruit notes. The palate is balanced, rounded, and warming, carrying a whisper of herbal spice and a pleasantly bitter, clean finish that invites another sip. It is elegant rather than heavy, a polished study in clarity and aromatic precision.
What to Pair It With
Grappa Bianca is at its finest alongside something sweet or savory to close the meal. We love it with Mama’s Tiramisu, whose espresso-soaked layers play against the spirit’s clean lift, or with our Flourless Chocolate Cake for a richer contrast. For a lighter finish, the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta is a quiet, lovely match. Explore the full dine-in menu to build your perfect ending.
How It’s Served at Grappa
We pour Nardini Grappa Bianca neat as a digestif at $12, served in the traditional way to let its aromas open fully — an unhurried, refined finish to your evening in Queen Anne.
