Nonino Grappa di Chardonnay
Nonino Grappa di Chardonnay

Nonino Grappa di Chardonnay is an aged, single-variety grappa poured at Grappa in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, crafted by the celebrated Nonino distillery in Percoto, Friuli. We list it for its velvety, barrique-rested refinement, a benchmark monovitigno grappa that closes an evening with quiet elegance, from our family to your table.

About the Distillery

The Nonino distillery was founded by Orazio Nonino in 1897 in Percoto, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, not far from Udine. The family is widely credited with elevating grappa into a fine, single-variety spirit, and their name is among the most respected in all of Italy. Their work is defined by meticulous craft and an artisan’s devotion to quality.

Style & Production

This grappa is made only from a careful selection of fresh Chardonnay pomace. Distillation is discontinuous in steam-heated copper stills, with the head and tail cut away to preserve the noble heart of the spirit. It then ages for 12 months in barriques under official seal, where the oak lends it color and complexity.

Tasting Notes

Expect a golden-yellow hue with slight amber reflections from the barrique. The nose is rich, with hints of chocolate and freshly shelled almonds sweeping toward bread, vanilla and pastry. On the palate it is fine and elegant, with a velvety, lingering sip.

What to Pair It With

Nonino Grappa di Chardonnay pairs beautifully with our Flourless Chocolate Cake and Charcuterie Board, and it is a refined digestif after our American Wagyu Steaks. Browse the full dine-in menu for more.

How It’s Served at Grappa

We pour it neat as a digestif, served at $23, an elegant finish to dinner in Queen Anne.
