Nonino Grappa di Moscato
Nonino Grappa di Moscato

Nonino Grappa di Moscato is an aromatic single-grape (monovitigno) grappa poured by the glass at Grappa in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Distilled by the Nonino family from the fragrant pomace of Moscato grapes, it is the kind of perfumed, gentle digestif we love to set down at the close of an evening, from our family to your table.

About the Distillery

The Nonino distillery was founded in 1897 by Orazio Nonino in Ronchi di Percoto, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. On the 1st of December 1973, Benito and Giannola Nonino created the first single-varietal grappa, Monovitigno Nonino, an innovation that reshaped how grappa is made and presented around the world. The family still distills in artisanal copper steam stills by appointment-only craft, and their name has become a benchmark for elegance in the category.

Style & Production

This grappa is made entirely from Moscato, a famously aromatic white grape prized for its floral, grapey perfume. Grappa is distilled not from wine but from pomace, the skins, pulp and seeds left after the grapes are pressed for winemaking. Nonino selects fresh, soft Moscato pomace, ferments it under careful temperature control, and distills it immediately in batch copper steam stills to preserve every note of the grape’s natural fragrance.

Tasting Notes

Expect a lifted, flowery bouquet that signals Moscato at once: orange blossom, ripe grape and a whisper of candied citrus. On the palate it is soft and expressive, carrying that aromatic sweetness of scent while finishing clean and warming. The aftertaste lingers gently, perfumed rather than fiery, an inviting close to a meal.

What to Pair It With

Moscato grappa loves sweet, delicate finishes. Try it alongside our Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta, a scoop of house gelato or sorbet, or a slice of Mama’s Tiramisu. Browse the full dine-in menu to plan the rest of your evening.

How It’s Served at Grappa

We pour Nonino Grappa di Moscato neat as a digestif, served at room temperature in a tulip glass so its aromatics can open. It is offered at $25.
