Old Log Cabin is a small-batch bourbon distilled here in Seattle, and it is poured at Grappa in our own Queen Anne neighborhood. We are glad to feature a local pour: a hometown bourbon, made just across the city, brings a sense of place to a glass enjoyed at our tables on Boston Street.
About the Distillery
Old Log Cabin is produced by Old Log Cabin Distillery in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood, the operation formerly known as Batch 206, which has been crafting small-batch spirits in the city since 2012. Grain is grown in Washington and the water is drawn from the Cascade Mountains east of the city, making this a genuinely Washington bourbon from grain to glass. As a Seattle restaurant, we take particular pleasure in pouring a bourbon distilled so close to home. (FLAG: brand details verified against the distillery; confirm the current bottling and any age statement with staff.)
Style & Mash Bill
This is a Washington-made straight bourbon, distilled from locally grown grain in small batches. As a craft, single-distillery product the exact mash bill and bottling strength can change from release to release, so the precise grain recipe and proof of the current pour are best confirmed in person. What is consistent is its character: a corn-based bourbon shaped by Washington grain and Cascade water, made on a small scale. (FLAG: exact mash bill and proof of the current bottling are not independently verified here and should be confirmed with the distillery or staff.)
Tasting Notes
Expect a craft bourbon profile of vanilla, light caramel and toasted grain, with a gentle backbone of oak and baking spice. The palate is smooth and approachable, with sweet corn, soft spice and a touch of cereal warmth from the locally grown grain. The finish is clean and gently warming — an easygoing, characterful pour. (FLAG: tasting notes are descriptive of the style; the current bottling may vary batch to batch.)
What to Pair It With
