About the show
Weedeater formed in Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1998, led by singer and bassist Dave “Dixie” Collins after his earlier band Buzzov-en broke up. They call their sound “weed metal”, and their albums include God Luck and Good Speed (2007) and Jason… The Dragon (2011) on Southern Lord and Goliathan (2015) on Season of Mist. Steve Albini worked on several of their records.
ZEKE formed in Seattle in 1992 and play fast, loud hardcore punk; their albums include Kicked in the Teeth (1998) and Hellbender (2018). Royal Thunder, the Atlanta rock band formed in 2004, and Yes Ma’aM from New Orleans complete the bill.
