How to time dinner before a show at El Corazon
El Corazon lists both a doors time and a show time for every event, and the doors usually open 30 to 60 minutes before the first band. Book your table about two hours before the show time and you can finish dinner, make the short drive and walk in with time to spare.
Many heavy bills here have three or four bands, so the headliner often plays well after the listed start. If you only want to catch the headliner, a later table still works; if you want every opener, stick to two hours before the show time.
Getting from Grappa to El Corazon
Grappa is at 2 Boston St at the top of Queen Anne, and El Corazon is at 109 Eastlake Avenue East, one block from the intersection of Denny Way and Stewart Street, where Howell Street becomes Eastlake. The Funhouse is in the same building. Check the live route from Grappa to El Corazon before you leave, since Denny Way is busy in the evening.
The venue points drivers to street parking, two pay lots one block northwest of the building and SpotHero reservations. There is also a bus stop across the street, and rideshare drop-offs are easy on Eastlake.

Good to know before the show
- Ages: every show is either 21+ or all ages with a bar for guests 21 and over with ID. Guests under 21 cannot attend 21+ shows, even with a parent.
- Bags: backpacks are not allowed, and bags are searched at the door. Coat check is available.
- Re-entry: guests 21 and over can leave and come back with a hand stamp; there is no re-entry for guests under 21.
- Box office: open Monday to Friday, 1 PM to 6 PM. Tickets are not sold by phone.
- Standing room: shows are mostly standing, with a few booths and tables on a first-come basis.

About El Corazon and The Funhouse
El Corazon, Spanish for “the heart”, opened in 2005, but the building has hosted music for far longer, under names including Graceland, The Off Ramp and Sub-Zero. Pearl Jam played their first five shows here, and Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Nirvana all played the room early on. The main room holds about 800 people.
The Funhouse, El Corazon’s sister club, first opened in 2003 in a nearby building and moved into El Corazon’s former lounge in 2015. It is a smaller room for about 200 people.
