How to time dinner before a show at the Neptune

Book your table about two hours before showtime. That leaves room for dinner, the drive across the ship canal and a few minutes to find parking in a busy neighborhood.

Most shows at the Neptune start between 7 and 8 PM, which puts your table at Grappa between 5 and 6 PM. The Neptune is a smaller room than the downtown theatres, and parking nearby is all on the street or in pay lots, so on a sold-out night a little extra time goes a long way.

Getting from Grappa to the Neptune Theatre

Grappa is at 2 Boston St at the top of Queen Anne, and the Neptune is at 1303 NE 45th Street, on the corner of NE 45th Street and Brooklyn Avenue in the University District. Check the live route from Grappa to the Neptune before you leave, since the bridges and I-5 can slow down in the evening.

The Neptune has no parking lot. Seattle Theatre Group notes metered street parking and several pay lots nearby. Do not park on Brooklyn Avenue NE just west of the theatre: that stretch is the production loading area, and cars there can be towed. The theatre is also close to several bus stops, and a rideshare drop-off avoids the search for a space. On busy nights, allow a few extra minutes to walk from a pay lot.

For parking at the restaurant itself, see our parking and directions page.

Good to know before the show

  • No parking on Brooklyn Avenue NE by the theatre: it is the loading area, and cars can be towed.
  • Security: Seattle Theatre Group’s venue safety policy applies at the door.
  • Street parking: meters are enforced on many blocks, so read the posted hours.
