Planning dinner before The Frights at The Crocodile? The San Diego band celebrates ten years of You Are Going To Hate This at The Crocodile on Friday, September 18, with doors at 5 PM and the show at 6:00 PM. Grappa is 1.9 miles away by car in Queen Anne, about six minutes without traffic. With an early start, book a table around 4:00 PM.

Plan your evening around an early show

A 6 PM show on a Friday means dinner a little earlier than usual. Sit down at Grappa around 4:00 PM, and you will be in Belltown shortly after the doors open at 5 PM, in time for opener Archer Oh!. Grappa is open from 11 AM on Fridays, so an early table is easy to book.

The show is all ages. The Crocodile asks that children under 14 come with a parent and does not allow backpacks or bags larger than 12 x 12 x 8 inches. Before you set off, check the live route from Grappa to The Crocodile, since Friday traffic builds early. For parking, re-entry and the box office, see our guide to dinner near The Crocodile.

Getting to The Crocodile

The Crocodile sits at 1st Avenue and Wall Street in the north end of Belltown, so the trip from Grappa is mostly downhill and takes about six minutes without traffic. The venue has no parking lot; it points drivers to SpotHero for reserved spaces nearby, and street parking is available in the surrounding blocks. On an early weekend evening, reserving a space ahead of time saves circling the block before the doors open.

About the show

The Frights formed in the San Diego area in 2012 and play a mix of surf punk and garage rock. The band is Mikey Carnevale, Richard Dotson, Marc Finn and Jordan Clark.

You Are Going To Hate This came out in February 2016 on Dangerbird Records, produced by Zac Carper of FIDLAR, and its label described it as a garage-surf-punk record full of driving rhythms and reverb-soaked riffs. This tour marks its tenth anniversary. The band has since released Hypochondriac (2018), Everything Seems Like Yesterday (2020), Gallows Humour (2023) and Ready When You Are (2025).

The Crocodile has hosted rock shows in Seattle since 1991 and moved to its current Belltown home in 2021.
